PREP. COURSE FOR LECTURES, MEETINGS, AND NEGOTIATIONS IN ENGLISH

Presenting your research is as important as doing your research. Not all of us feel comfortable with public speaking; speaking in a foreign tongue doesn’t make it easier. The duration of the seminar is dependent on class size and ability level. After making sure the work is clearly written (this can be done via email), we practice your presentation and prepare you for a question answer session. Note: Before the seminar, it is required that all participants send an outline of their speech, power point presentation, and a list of expected questions.

Class size can range from one person to seven people depending on your needs. Research groups working out of centers or hospitals may have classes larger than seven. For these groups we recommended additional individual consultations. The duration of the seminar is dependent on class size and ability level. Seminars can be given during the work day or on weekends.

Presenting your ideas at meetings and negotiating in business can be difficult in a foreign tongue. We can help you with word choice, pronunciation and technique. Using relevant chapters from Cambridge’s English for Business Communication by Simon Sweeney and current sources that apply to you, we prepare you to speak confidently about your topics and ready you for discussing them with others.
