Proofreading/Editing
Proofreaders and editors are being used more than ever to ensure fluid language, clarity, correct grammar, and proper use of terms because high quality English is necessary when publishing in the international community. Those who have English as a second language as well as native speakers of English use their expertise to ensure factual information in their work, let us make your complex ideas understandable and eloquent.
In cases where a paper has multiple contributors, the primary author has often used a considerable amount of time sending the paper back and forth to co-authors, specialists, and statisticians. As the work is developed by the various contributors the piece often looses its cohesiveness. The final specialists to see the work should be the proofreader. Though we proofread and edit in many areas, we specialize in the fields of Psychology, Psychiatry and Pharmacology. All terms in these areas are reviewed by a doctor on staff who is active in research. Amy Burgard with a Bachelors of Science from Humboldt State University in California, USA proofs/edits all written works in Biology and Botany.
The line between proofreading (scanning written work for minor mistakes) and editing (revising the work, deleting/adding material) is often blurry. For this reason the price is by the hour at NOK 450 + tax. |

Oral Presentation of Your Work in English
If you are presenting your research as a lecture or a poster in English at a conference, you may consider taking a seminar on just that. We have a course specially designed to prepare you to present and discuss your work in English. Below is an excerpt from our course list.
PREP. COURSE FOR LECTURES, MEETINGS, AND NEGOTIATIONS IN ENGLISH
Presenting your research is as important as doing your research. Not all of us feel comfortable speaking publicly; speaking in a foreign tongue doesn’t make it easier. After ensuring that the work is clearly written (this can be done via email), we rehearse your presentation and prepare you for a question answer session. Note: Pre-seminar requirements: all participants must send an outline of his/her speech, power point presentation and a list of expected questions
For those of you with a poster, send ahead the proofed poster, themes you want to discuss and questions that may be asked. |
